GLV Internship Program

GLV has 2 campuses in China. One is in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province; another one is in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Interns are welcome to join us in either campus...If you are passing through Zhuhai or Hangzhou, wanting to experience real life in these areas of China, or just want to get to know GLV better, we invite you to spend some time as part of our intern program.

 

GLV will provide:

• An opportunity for interns to exchange ideas and culture with Chinese students. GLV students are from all over China. This will provide the intern opportunities to become familiar with different areas of China from talking to our students.
• Opportunities to learn the Chinese language by making friends with the Chinese staff in GLV or local people. Many foreigners learn Chinese this way, and making friends is a quick way to learn a language.
• Opportunities for interns to go on outings with students, teachers, and other people while having fun together. Participating in such natural activities often leads to more insights into the contrast of cultures. Quite a lot of our foreign friends feel this natural interaction is very beneficial.
• Local Chinese food almost every day in our cafeteria. Students, teachers and staff come from different places to eat and talk together. This is a great learning opportunity for all concerned.
• Accommodation.
  Accommodation will be provided to Interns.
• Meals. GLV provides meals during working time.

  Eating in the classroom, library and offices are not allowed.
• Internet
  There is free internet service available in the school in both campuses.
  In Hangzhou the intern will need to use his own computer.

 

We expect interns to provide:

• A minimum of 15-18 hours of contact time per week.
• A passion to interact with students.
• Insight into your experience in your country or your life.
• Support for the English only environment in GLV. GLV is a total immersion English experience school for students. The intern should speak English only with GLV students at all times.
• Hosting for English corners/events arranged by school
• Cultural exchange activities.
• Tutoring for students
• Welcoming activities for new students and interacting with them
• Opportunities for students to become acquainted with them through question and answer corners
• Support for the Alumni Association activities.
• Some activity programs in afternoons, evenings or weekends.

 

Visa:

• GLV will provide the invitation letter to assist interns in obtaining a visa in their country.
• Interns will pay for and apply for a visa to come to China.
• Visa types can be a business visa, a training visa or a student visa.
• The length of the visa depends on the mutual agreement between the intern and GLV, and also the Chinese embassy in the intern's country.
